ERIE, Pa. – Penn State Behrend baseball player Ryan Jacobs (Port Vue, PA/South Allegheny) has been named the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Pitcher of the Week, announced on Monday.
Jacobs made history on Sunday in the Lions’ 1-0 win over Mount Aloysius. The senior hurler took the mound in game one and dominated from start to finish. Jacobs became the first player in program history to throw a perfect game, sitting down all 21 batters he faced. He struck out six hitters in seven innings while throwing less than 70 pitches. Jacobs leads the team with a 5-0 record and is second in strikeouts (36) and earned run average (1.51).
Behrend will be back in action tomorrow to host D’Youville in an AMCC doubleheader beginning at 2 p.m.
