Three Lions Named Players To Watch by Collegiate Baseball Magazine

ERIE, Pa – The Penn State Behrend baseball team had three players listed as Players to Watch for the 2022 season by Collegiate Baseball Magazine.

Senior Thomas Zbezinski (Gibsonia, PA/Pine Richland) winds up on the list for the third-straight year following a season with a sub-two earned run average (1.68). Zbezinski was a First Team All-AMCC selection as well as earning a spot on the NCAA All-Tournament Team. The accolades continued for the Lion southpaw as he was also selected to the ABCA/Rawlings All-Region Team and the D3baseball.com All-Mideast Region Team.

Colin Harger (Pittsburgh, PA/Shaler) hits the national spotlight after a breakout season last year, resulting in a First Team All-Conference bid. Harger led the AMCC in batting average (.444) at the time of his selection and finished the season with 53 hits and 25 RBI. Harger joined Zbezinski on the ABCA/Rawlings All-Region and the D3baseball.com All-Mideast Teams.

Juston Jones (Moon Township, PA/Moon) rounds out the Players to Watch following a Second Team All-AMCC selection in 2021. The junior outfielder finished the season with a .357 batting average while driving in 36 runs, the second most on the team.  

Behrend opens the 2022 season on Saturday, February 26 at East Mennonite and begin conference play at home on April 2 against Pitt-Bradford in search of their seventh AMCC Championship.
