ERIE, Pa. – This week, D3baseball.com announced Penn State Behrend senior Zack Bowen (Pittsburgh, PA/Serra Catholic) as an All-Region selection.

"Zack had a tremendous senior season and carried us for much of the year," said coach Paul Benim. "He registered an MVP caliber season for our team while leading us in runs, hits, doubles and stolen bases and played exceptional defense at second base. This is a well deserved and earned All-Region honor." 

The 2022 second-team choice garnered his first All-Region accolade following a season which he reigned atop the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) in multiple statistical categories. Bowen led all players in runs scored and finished the season breaking the half-century mark at 51. Bowen drove in 35 runs and had a career-high 56 hits this season, with 21 going for extra bases, all ranking in the conference top-10.

On April 18, Bowen was named AMCC Player of the Week and earned a first team All-Conference bid at the conclusion of AMCC play.

The All-Region accolade becomes the third postseason honor Bowen has received this year after being named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District Team back on May 12.
