ERIE, Pa. – Senior Justin LeDonne (Murrysville, PA/Franklin Regional) was selected as the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Co-Defensive Player of the Year, along with Jack Leahy of Alfred State.
Noteworthy:
* LeDonne notched Co-Defensive Player of the Year and All-AMCC First Team honors by leading the backline for the Lions this season
* Starting all 17 games, he helped the team record 10 shutouts, six of which were in conference play. On the backline, he allowed only three goals on 35 shots in AMCC action, while also delivering three scores and an assist, including one game winner
* Joining LeDonne on the First Team was forward Blake Cooper (Murrysville, PA/Franklin Regional) and goalkeeper Sam York (Akron, OH/Revere)
* Cooper started all 17 games, leading the team and third in the conference with 28 points. He was also the team leader in goals (10) and ranked third in the AMCC in assists (eight). In conference play, he tallied six scores and six assists for 18 points, including two game winners
* York earned six shutouts this year to tie for first amongst AMCC goalkeepers, while playing a role in two other blank slates
* In 14 starts, York recorded an 8-3-3 record which tied for second in the conference rankings and finished with five conference wins and only one loss. He made 29 saves and was fifth in the AMCC in goals-against average (0.91). Also, in conference play he ranked first with a 0.33 goals-against average and third in save percentage (.750)
* LeDonne, Cooper, and York are repeat selections from last season to the First Team
* Johnathan Swann (Allison Park, PA/North Allegheny), Nate Coleman (Vandergrift, PA/Kiski Area), and Andrew Cassano (Bethel Park, PA/Bethel Park) registered All-AMCC Second Team honors
* Swann finished second on the team with eight goals scored and 19 points, including three game winners
* He tied for second on the team in assists (three). In conference play, Swann was tied for the team-high with six goals scored and dished out three assists for 15 points, while delivering two game winners.
* In his first collegiate season, Coleman started 12 of his 15 games played. As an attacking midfielder, he tallied two goals and an assist for five points in conference play, including a game winning score against La Roche
* Cassano was a leader on the defense for the Lions. He helped the Lions record nine shutouts, six of which were in conference play. On the backline, he allowed only three goals on 35 shots in AMCC action, while also scoring a header goal against La Roche. Last season, Cassano was a First Team selection
* Rounding out the All-Conference honors were third team selections Tyler Vandemerwe Erie, PA/Cathedral Prep), Jac Caputo (Pittsburgh, PA/Montour), Justin Hockenberger (Spencerport, NY/Spencerport), and Brock Kiefer (Eighty-Four, PA/Canon McMillan)
* Vandemerwe finished third on the team with five goals and 12 points. He came on strong in conference play, scoring all five of his goals and recording two assists. Also, Vandemerwe delivered two game winners in AMCC action
* Caputo contributed as defensive midfielder and helped the Lions to eight shutouts, five of which were in conference play. His lone score of the season came on a penalty kick at Chatham
* Hockenberger notched two goals in conference play, while dishing out an assist on the game winning goal against Fredonia. Also, he delivered a successful penalty kick score against Pitt-Bradford. This is the second consecutive season that Hockenberger earned Third Team honors
* Kiefer was a mainstay on Behrend's defense, starting all 17 games. He helped the team tally 10 shutouts, six of which were in conference play. On the backline, he allowed only three goals on 35 shots in AMCC action, while also, scoring the game winning goal at Chatham
* Caputo and Swann were named to the All-AMCC Second Team last season
* This marks the first All-Conference selections for Vandemerwe and Kiefer
