Behrend Men's Swimming and Diving in Fourth at Allegheny Empire Championships

ROCHESTER, NY – The Penn State Behrend men's swimming and diving team is in fourth place after day one of the 2024 Allegheny Empire Championships at the Webster Aquatic Center on Wednesday night.  

Combined Men's Scores: 1. Alfred State (181), 2. Hartwick (163), 3. Alfred (158), 4. Penn State Behrend (141), 5. Penn State Altoona (98), 6. Nazareth (96), 7. Pitt-Bradford (80), 8. Wells (NTS)

Noteworthy:

* The Behrend Lions accumulated 141 points to rank fourth in the combined standings and are second among the AMCC teams
* The Lions competed in two relays on the night, taking first in the 200 yard medley relay
* Glenn Fowkes (Vandergrift, PA/Kiski Area), Will Perham (Upper St. Clair, PA/Upper St. Clair), Tim Compton (Pittsburgh, PA/North Allegheny) and Anthony Tumino (Hershey, PA/Hershey) won with a time of 1:32.88
* In the second relay of the night, Compton, Perham, Jax Abele (Erie, PA/Iroquois) and Dan Tanaskovic (Monaca, PA/Central Valley) were second behind Hartwick in the 800 free relay
* The foursome touched in 7:04.31
* For the three-meter diving, Jacob Earley (Erie, PA/Harbor Creek) earned 17 points for sixth place with a score of 345.25

Next Up:

* Behrend returns to the water tomorrow for day two of the AMCC Empire Championships. Prelims begin at 10 a.m. with finals at 5 p.m.
