Penn State Behrend Men's Tennis Shuts Out Pitt-Bradford for First AMCC Win

The Penn State Behrend men's tennis team earned a 9-0 decision over AMCC opponent Pitt-Bradford on Saturday, March 21 at the Westwood Raquet Club in Erie.

Elliot Blackstone (Wexford/Pine-Richland) cruised in #1 singles (6-0, 6-1) and teamed with Jon Henderson (Upper St. Clair/Upper St. Clair) to take #1 doubles 8-2.

Shane Mosier (Kersey/St. Mary's) took #3 singles with two shut out sets (6-0, 6-0), as did Henderson at #4 singles and Kelly Manning (Sharpsville/Kennedy Catholic) at #6 singles.

The #2 doubles team of Peter Bissert (Pittsburgh/Seton-LaSalle) and Brad Nagel (West Alexander/McGuffey) coasted to an 8-3 win, while the #3 doubles team posted an 8-1 win.

Behrend Lions men's tennis improves to 4-7 overall and 1-0 in AMCC play, while Pitt-Bradford falls to 1-2 overall and 1-1 in league play.

The Behrend men will play four more consecutive home matches.  Next up is a home match against Pitt-Greensburg on March 24 at 2:00 p.m. followed by a non-conference match with Alfred on March 27.
