Penn State Behrend Men's Tennis Struggles Against Grove City Wolverines

The Penn State Behrend men's tennis team dropped a 9-0 decision to regional power Grove City on Friday, March 6 at the Westwood Raquet Club in Erie.

Elliot Blackstone (Wexford/Pine-Richland) took Grove City's John Moyer into the deciding third set before falling 0-6, 7-6, 7-6 in the #1 singles match.  As a team Behrend falls to 2-2 on the season. 

The Wolverines would go on to win the other five singles matches and swept all three of the doubles matches to earn the 9-0 victory. 

Grove City improves to 1-0 early in the season.  The Wolverines compete in the PAC conference, and have won the league title 18 consecutive years. 

The Behrend men depart this evening for Hilton Head, South Carolina.  The blue and white are set to compete over the spring break week against five other squads.  The first match for the Behrend Lions is set for Sunday, March 8 against Charleston at 5:30 p.m.  Behrend will conclude the trip on Friday, March 13 with a 8:00 a.m. match against Trine.  The blue and white play again at home on March 21 in the first AMCC match of the season.
