Behrend Men's Tennis Faces St. Marys (MD) in NCAA First Round

ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend men's tennis team will be making its second overall appearance in the NCAA Division III Tournament this weekend. The Lions will travel to Fredericksburg, Virginia, and Mary Washington to face St. Marys (MD) on Friday in first-round action.

The Lions (11-13) earned the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference's (AMCC) automatic bid into the 42-team tournament after winning their seventh AMCC title. Behrend defeated Penn State Altoona 5-1 to advance to the NCAA Championships.

The Seahawks (15-3) claimed the United East Conference title and then defeated SUNY Delhi in the United East/North Atlantic Conference crossover match to earn the automatic qualifier in the NCAA Tournament.

The teams will play a single-elimination tournament with the first three rounds played at Mary Washington.
