Steele Named to All-UVC Team

ERIE, Pa. – Penn State Behrend men's volleyball senior outside hitter Nathan Steele (Cranberry Township, PA/Seneca Valley) has been named to the 2014 United Volleyball Conference (UVC) All-Conference Team, announced on Thursday.

Steele becomes the first player in program history to be selected to the All-UVC team. He was an honorable-mention choice after ranking 10th in hitting percentage (.333) behind a team-leading 214 kills on 469 attempts and just 58 errors. Steele averaged 2.97 kills per set to rank him 44th in Division III statistics, while collecting 62 digs and making 30 blocks.

Steele had double-digit kills in 10 matches this season, including a season-best 19 kills at Thiel on Feb. 12. He tallied a .579 hitting percentage against Medaille (12-1-19) and went four games with no errors.

The Lions are back in action on Saturday against New Paltz St. in the UVC quarterfinals tomorrow at 1 p.m.
