Four Named to All-AMCC Men's Volleyball Team; Hering Selected Newcomer of the Year

ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend men's volleyball team had four players named to the All-Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Team, while freshman Logan Hering (North East, PA/North East) was named AMCC Newcomer of the Year.

Hering was also named to the All-AMCC first team along with senior Colin Dedert (Pittsburgh, PA/Plum), and sophomore Adrian Martinez (San Juan, Puerto Rico/Wesleyan Academy). Junior Cody Schnur (Butler, PA/Butler) was selected to the second team.

Hering was one of two freshmen on the All-Conference Team. He landed on the first team and was named Newcomer of the Year for finishing second in the AMCC in kills (156), fourth in kills per set (3.39) and fifth in aces (15). Hering played and started in all but one match this season, registering double-digit kills in 10 matches. He tallied two double-doubles, including a season-high 20 kills and 12 digs against Geneva. In addition to leading the team in kills and kills per set, he ranked second in overall digs with 84.

Dedert, the senior outside hitter, is earning his first All-Conference honors. He ranked third in the conference in kills with 156, fourth in service aces with 16 and seventh in kills per set with 3.20. Dedert tied Hering for second on the team with 84 digs. He played in all but one match this season, recording his first collegiate double-double with 17 kills and 12 digs at Hiram. Dedert also registered a career-high 24 kills in the AMCC Championship match.

Martinez, the starting libero, is being recognized on the All-AMCC Team for the first time in his career. He ranked second in the conference in digs per set, averaging 3.12. Martinez also ranked second in the AMCC in overall digs with 153. He registered double-digit digs in eight matches, including a career-high 20 at Hiram.

Schnur repeats on the second team after earning the same honor last season. He started in nine matches, missing four due to injury. Schnur led the conference in blocks per set (0.81) and ranked second in the conference in hitting percentage (.358). He was first on the team in total blocks (26) and third in total kills (73). Schnur registered a career-high 18 kills and tied a season-best six blocks at Altoona.
