Women's Basketball Collects First Win; Lions Advance to Tip-Off Championship

ERIE, Pa. – Senior guard Kara Haslett (Baden, PA/Ambridge) scored a career-high 23 points to lead Penn State Behrend women's basketball team past SUNY Canton 91-60 in the first round of their Tip-Off Tournament held at the Junker Center on Friday night.

* The Lions shot 44.4 percent from the floor and had four of the five starters in double-digit points
* Behrend forced 35 turnovers and only committed seven to advance to the championship game tomorrow
* Caitlin Carnuche (New Castle, PA/Mohawk) registered 12 points, five rebounds, four assists and two steals
* Rachel Majewski (Erie, PA/Villa Maria Academy) came off the bench to contribute 11 points and a game-high five assists

* Alexis Furyes (Medina, OH/Highland) and Alanna Dibble (Lakewood, NY/Southwestern) tallied 11 and 10 points, respectively
