Behrend Women's Tennis Captures Eighth AMCC Championship!

Penn State Behrend women's tennis successfully defended their conference crown on the weekend of October 18 and 19.

The 2008 AMCC title marked the fourth title in a row for the blue and white and Head Coach Jeff Barger, while earning its eighth overall in eleven years of AMCC tennis. The league began play in 1997.

The Behrend Lions swept the individual singles titles and won two of three doubles crowns en route to a convincing defense of their AMCC women's tennis title.  

The scoring breakdown of the championship was Penn State Behrend in first with 26 points, Frostburg posted 15, Penn State Altoona logged 12, La Roche had six points and Pitt-Bradford tallied four.

Arica Christman (#1 singles, #2 doubles), Stephanie Cattron (#3 singles, #2 doubles) and Hillary Lasher (#5 singles, #3 doubles) were both singles and doubles champions for Behrend. 

Also winning their respective singles flights were Christy Calvert (Warren/Mercyhurst Prep) who took the second flight singles title, Karen Hobaugh (Kutztown/Kutztown) who was victorious in #4 singles and Leslie Durante (Fairview/Fairview) in #6 singles.
