Championship Bracket

ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend women's tennis team will travel to the University of Chicago to face Luther College in the first round of the NCAA Division III Championships on Friday.

The Lions (16-8) earned an automatic bid into the 49-team tournament, announced Monday, after capturing their sixth Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Championship. It is the first time in conference history the winner advanced to postseason play.

Behrend will battle against Luther (22-10) for the first time in program history. The teams will play a single-elimination tournament with the first three rounds played at the regional site.

The Norse was the Iowa Conference automatic qualifier for the national tournament after winning the league's title on May 1. Luther is making its third straight appearance in the NCAA Championships and the 13th in school history.

The winner of the first-round match will face top-seed Chicago on Saturday.
