FREDONIA, NY – Arica Christman (Sharon, PA/Sharon), Leslie Durante (Fairview, PA/Fairview) and Allison Quigley (Gibsonia, PA/Hampton) each were double winners on the day to help the Behrend women's tennis team defeat Fredonia St. 6-3 in non-conference action on Wednesday.

The Lions (3-0) earned two points in doubles competition at both No. 1 and No. 2. Christman and Durante shut out their opponents and Quigley and Jade Buhite (Ashtabula, OH/Edgewood) were 8-5 winners playing at the second spot.

With a 2-1 lead heading into singles play, Christman and Quigley won their matches in two sets, while Durante took Jess Johnston to a third-set tiebreaker for a 6-7 (7-5), 6-3 and 12-7 victory. Rachel Harris (Russell, PA/Eisenhower) was the other singles winner for Behrend. She won 6-3, 6-0 over Molly Zanetti in the fifth spot.

The Lions return to action on Friday against Westminster. Match begins at 4 p.m. on the Behrend Courts.
