Women's Tennis Keeps Perfect AMCC Record

ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend Lions women's tennis team earned its third conference win and posted its first shut-out victory with a 9-0 decision over Pitt-Bradford on Wednesday evening at the Behrend Courts.

The sweep includes all three doubles matches and all six singles matches to produce double winners for all the Lions' six competitors.

The team of Arica Christman (Sharon, PA/Sharon) and Stephanie Cattron (Greenville, PA/Commodore Perry) remain undefeated in doubles play this year, posting an 8-2 win at the No. 1 spot.  Christman was also a 6-2, 6-1 winner at No. 1 singles to improve her record to 4-1. Cattron is now 3-0 at No. 2 singles thanks to a 6-0, 6-2 victory over Natalie Freed.

Leslie Durante (Fairview, PA/Fairview) and Allison Quigley (Gibsonia, PA/Hampton) were 8-3 winners playing at the No. 2 doubles position. Both convincingly won in singles. Durante tallied a 6-1, 6-3 decision, while Quigley only lost one set (6-1, 6-0) at No. 4.

Jade Buhite (Ashtabula, OH/Edgewood) and Rachel Harris (Russell, PA/Eisenhower) kept an undefeated mark in doubles, defeating Natalie Weiss and Kellie Vaughn 8-4 at the third spot. Buhite followed Quigley, only allowing one set to get away from her and Harris blanked Weiss, 6-0, 6-0 at No. 6 singles.

Behrend returns to action on Friday against La Roche. The match begins at 4 p.m.
