Lions Post Second Straight Shut Out

ERIE, Pa. – Arica Christman (Sharon, PA/Sharon), Stephanie Cattron (Greenville, PA/Commodore Perry), Leslie Durante (Fairview, PA/Fairview) and Whitney Richardson (Westminster, MD/Winters Mill) each won their singles match by a score of 6-0, 6-0 to help the Penn State Behrend women's tennis team defeat La Roche, 9-0, in Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) action on Friday.

The Lions (5-1, 4-0 AMCC) continue to dominate conference play and keep an unblemished AMCC mark.

Allison Quigley (Gibsonia, PA/Hampton) and Jade Buhite (Ashtabula, OH/Edgewood) were singles and doubles winners.  Quigley tallied a 6-0, 6-3 win at No. 4 singles and Buhite was a 6-1, 6-1 winner.  Richardson picked up her first collegiate win and did not give up a set at sixth spot.

Behrend also swept the doubles competition, only allowing the Redhawks to take two sets in the three matches.

The Lions return to action tomorrow at Waynesburg. The match begins at 1 p.m.
