Women's Tennis Falls to Clarion, 9-0

ERIE, Pa. – The Division II Clarion women's tennis team won all three doubles matches before sweeping the singles competition to defeat Penn State Behrend 9-0 in non-conference action on Friday afternoon.

Jaclyn Metzger was a double winner at the No. 1 spot for both singles and doubles. She won 8-0 with Caitlin Clemons and then tallied a 6-1, 6-1 decision against Leslie Durante (Fairview, PA/Fairview).

Megan Bettwy, Madeline Robinson and Michaela Hardy also won twice for the Eagles (6-2).

Carissa Zozos (Pittsburgh, PA/North Hills) made a push for the win at No. 6 singles, falling to Claire Kerstetter 7-5, 6-0.

The Lions will face Thiel next Friday beginning at 4 p.m. for their final match before the NCAA Tournament on May 21.
