Durante Leads Lions Over Thiel

ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend women's tennis team won three games by default and four others without giving up a set point to defeat Thiel 8-1 in non-conference action on Friday evening at Westwood Racquet Club.

Leslie Durante (Fairview, PA/Fairview) won twice on the night, not giving up a set point in both matches. She defeated Shay Kashey 6-0, 6-0 at No. 1 singles, before teaming with Jade Buhite (Ashtabula, OH/Edgewood) for an 8-0 victory at first doubles.

Megan Nochese (Ellwood City, PA/Riverside) and Rachel Harris (Russell, PA/Eisenhower) blanked their opponents 6-0, 6-0 at No. 3 and 4 singles, respectively.

Carissa Zozos (Pittsburgh, PA/North Hills) and Casey Smith (Grove City, PA/Grove City) tallied the final win at No. 3 doubles, 8-2.

The Lions will play in their second straight appearance in the NCAA Tournament on May 21.
