Behrend Women's Tennis Faces No. 3 Altoona in AMCC Semifinals

WEXFORD, Pa. – The No. 2 Penn State Behrend women's tennis team will face No. 3 Penn State Altoona in the 2023 Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Tournament Semifinals on Saturday at approximately 5:30 p.m. at the Oxford Athletic Club. The match will follow the first semifinals featuring No. 1 Pitt-Greensburg and No. 4 Mt. Aloysius at 3:30 p.m.

Penn State Behrend News & Notes:

* The Lions last won the AMCC Championship in 2020
* Behrend enters the championship as the No. 2 seed for the fourth straight year
* Last season, Pitt-Greensburg defeated the Lions 5-0 in the title match to win its second straight AMCC crown
* Behrend enters the tournament 7-5 overall and 4-1 in the AMCC
* The Lions only loss was to the No. 1 seed Pitt-Greensburg (7-2) back on Sept. 30
* Behrend defeated Penn State Altoona 9-0 during the regular season 
* The winner of the semifinals will advance to the championship match slated for Sunday, October 15 at 1:30 p.m.
* The champion will earn the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament
