Behrend Women's Tennis Hosts Grove City Friday Night

ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend women's tennis team will host Grove City in non-conference action on Friday at 6:30 p.m. at Westwood Racquet Club.

* This is the Lions first action this spring
* The last time Behrend competed was in the AMCC Championship match on Sunday, October 15
* The Lions fell 5-0 to Pitt-Greensburg to finish runners up in the conference
* Behrend enters the match with an 8-4 overall record
* The Lions had six players named to the All-AMCC team
* Tamanna Sharma (Brampton, Canada/Fletcher's Meadow Secondary School) was named to the First Team and AMCC Newcomer of the Year
* Keri Saulino (Bethlehem, PA/Freedom) and Rachel Fleming (Saint Marys, PA/Saint Marys) each have eight singles wins at the No. 6 and No. 5 spot, respectively
* Erica Jasinski (Fairview, PA/Fairview) and Lindsey Kerlin (Clearfield, PA/Clearfield) lead the team with a 9-2 doubles record in the top spot

* The Grove City Wolverines are 13-4 overall this season
* Grove City won the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) in October, defeating top-seed Allegheny 5-2
* The Wolverines recently posted a 1-1 record over Spring Break
* Grove City defeated Rose-Hulman 6-3 and fell to Wartburg, 7-2
* Catherine Petrovich paces the team with a 9-2 record at No. 1 singles
* Janel McCray and Emily Ivory are 10-3 at No. 1 doubles
