NEW LONDON, Conn. – The No. 6 seed Penn State Behrend women's water polo team will travel to New London, CT for the Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Division III Championships, hosted by Connecticut College on April 19-21. The Lions will take on Division III No. 9-ranked/CWPA No. 3 seed Austin in the first round on Friday at 4 p.m.

Behrend News & Notes:

* The Lions come in to championships with a 4-15 overall record and a 3-7 record in CWPA play
* Last weekend, Behrend dropped both its games at Grove City, falling to Washington & Jefferson (15-12) and the hosts Grove City (16-13)
* Sophomore Darragh Martin (Green Lane, PA/Upper Perkiomen) led the Lions with six scores against the Presidents. Four of her six goals were recorded in the fourth quarter
* ​Olivia Wright (Fairview, PA/Fairview) added two goals, while Susie Carrillo (Fresno, CA/Clovis North Educational Center), Marley Persch (Hudsonville, MI/Hudsonville), Makenzie Rickerd (Rockford, MI/Rockford), and Dylan Scherping (Harleysville, PA/Souderton) each found the back of the net once
* At last season's CWPA DIII Championships, Behrend finished in ninth-place, defeating Utica 17-7 in its final game
* Wright and Nic Darrell (Perkasie, PA/Pennridge) netted a pair of goals vs. the Pioneers

All children 12 and under are free of charge. All tickets are exclusively available at the door as there will be no presale in advance of the championship
