Behrend Baseball Defeats Medaille in AMCC Action

ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend baseball team has now won five of the last six games, sweeping Medaille 18-6 and 8-0 in Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) action on Tuesday afternoon.

Game One:

Key Moments:

* Everyone in the starting lineup had a hit for the Lions
* Behrend was one hit from tying the season high with 20 hits
* The Lions tallied the third-most RBIs this season with 16 to score 18 runs
* Isaac Stouffer (Punxsutawney, PA / Punxsutawney) and CJ Weller (Sewickley, PA/North Allegheny) led with three hits apiece
* Stouffer and Tanner Cicchini (Pittsburgh, PA/Upper St. Clair) started off the seven-run second inning with back-to-back triples
* The Lions had two more extra-base hits in the inning thanks to two-RBI doubles from Juston Jones (Moon Township, PA/Moon) and Colin Harger (Pittsburgh, PA/Shaler)

* The Lions tallied a season-best 15 strikeouts combined between four pitchers
* Starter Jacob Lindow (Bridgeville, PA/Chartiers Valley) had a career-high 10 K's in six innings of work
* Lindow had a no-hitter going through five innings and registered his third win this season
* Relief pitchers Colin Kelly (Erie, PA/Cathedral Prep), Jeff Zick (Moon, PA/Our Lady of Sacred Heart) and J. Jones combined for the final five
* Jones and Braden Paulinellie (DuBois, PA/DuBois) each had three hits, while Harger smacked a double and a triple for his two hits of game two
* The Behrend Lions went through the order in the first inning, scoring four runs on three hits
* The highlight was Harger knocking a triple to right center to score Jones and Josh Wagner (South Park, PA/South Park) for a 3-0 lead
* Harger then scored on a sacrifice fly by Cicchini for a four-run advantage
* Behrend added a run in the fourth, fifth and two in the sixth for the final margin and shutout
