Behrend Baseball Heads to ECAC Championships at Alvernia

ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend baseball team will head to Reading, Pennsylvania on Wednesday for a three game-series with Alvernia for the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Championship beginning on Thursday. The Lions are making their 13th appearance in the postseason tournament.

Behrend enters the tournament after losing consecutive games in the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Tournament. The Lions are 20-18 overall and finished 9-5 in AMCC play. Alvernia enters with a 27-18 record, falling in the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Championship series to Lebanon Valley.

The series will begin on Thursday with a doubleheader and a game three on Friday if necessary. Alvernia and Behrend are meeting for the fifth time in program history and first time since 2012. The Golden Wolves are 3-1 against the Lions. Behrend's only win was a 4-0 decision in 2011.
