Lions Finish Year Ranked No.1 in Scoring Defense

ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend men's basketball team finished the season as the top-ranked school in scoring defense among all Division III teams according to the final 2011-12 statistics.

Out of a 405 qualifying schools, the Lions had the nation's best defense.  Behrend only gave up 56 points per game and let just one team score more than 70 in 28 contests.

The Lions' stingy defense led them to the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) championship game and a bid to the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC) South Tournament.
