BUFFALO, NY - The Penn State Behrend men's basketball team fell to Medaille in Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) action Wednesday evening, 77-63.

Justice Fagan led the Mavericks (14-6, 11-2 AMCC) with 22 points after going 10-for-16 from the floor. Mike Hollenbeck added 18 points and eight rebounds.

Dan Wanker (Pittsburgh, PA/South Park) led the Lions (14-6, 9-4 AMCC) in rebounds and points, shooting 63.6 percent from the floor for 16 points and pulling down seven boards.

Medaille jumped out to a quick start, building a 9-0 lead that the Lions could never recover from. Behrend climbed back within three with a little over 11 minutes remaining in the half, but were unable to ever get closer. The Mavericks took a 42-31 lead into halftime.

Behrend looked to trim the Medaille lead in the second half, but were unable to overcome the halftime deficit. On two occasions the Lions were able to pull within six, but that was as close as they would get.

Although Behrend drained nine three compared to Medaille's four, they shot just 38.9 percent from the floor against 45.5 percent shooting from the Mavericks.

The Lions were also beat on the boards after being outrebounded 43-34 and had their third-worst performance from the free-throw line this season (12-for-20).

Behrend will look to get back on the winning track this Saturday when Pitt-Greensburg travels to Erie to take on the Lions at the Junker Center. Game time is set for 3 p.m.
