Lions Roll to Fourth Straight Win

GROVE CITY, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend men's soccer team defeated Grove City 3-0 on Wednesday afternoon in non-conference action.

The Lions (4-1) used three unassisted goals to earn their fourth consecutive victory.

Philip Broadus (Pittsburgh, PA/Allderdice) got Behrend on the board first with a goal at the 28:17 mark.  That was all the scoring the Lions or Wolverines would manage in the opening half with Behrend leading 1-0 at the break.

With the second half underway, Eric Vunovic (North Huntingdon, PA/Norwin) added to the Lions' lead with another unassisted goal.  Jimmy Belack (Upper St. Clair, PA/Upper St. Clair) netted an insurance goal from 15 yards out at the 87:52 mark but the Behrend defense did not need much as they cruised to their second straight shutout.

Jarrod Wassell (Hollidaysburg, PA/Hollidaysburg) made two saves in net.  Wassel has not allowed a goal in his last 238:08 of play.

The Lions will be back on the pitch Saturday to host Westminster at 3:30 p.m.
