GREENSBURG, Pa. – Nick Stewart (Pittsburgh, PA/Keystone Oaks) scored the only goals of the contest to lead the Penn State Behrend men's soccer team past Pitt-Greensburg 2-0 on Saturday afternoon.
The Lions won for the sixth time in seven games, improving to 10-3-1 overall and 4-1 in the AMCC.
Stewart's first goal came off of a penalty kick just 16:13 into the match to give the Lions the early 1-0 advangage.
He struck again just moments into the second half, booting in a one-timer from the top of the box off of a sensational Jimmy Belack (Upper St. Clair, PA/Upper St. Clair) pass.
The two goal advantage would be more than enough for goalkeeper Jarrod Wassell (Hollidaysburg, PA/Hollidaysburg). Recording his fifth shutout of 2013, the junior was spectacular again in net for Behrend.
The Lions will step out of conference to battle Houghton on Wednesday, October 16, at 7 p.m.
