ERIE, Pa. – Penn State Behrend men's swimming freshman Chase Bietz (Clearfield, PA/Clearfield) has been named the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Men's Swimmer of the Week, announced on Monday.

Bietz set four records, hit two NCAA "B" cut times and won six events to help the Lions captured the 2018 Fredonia Blue Devil Invitational. He won three individual events, hitting an NCAA qualifying time in the 100 and 200 breaststroke. Bietz also set a new AMCC and school record in the 200 breaststroke (2:04.23), and school records in the 100 breaststroke (56.10) and 200 IM (1:53.87). He also swam on three winning relays.

The Lions return to action on Saturday, January 12 at home against Washington & Jefferson. Meet time is 1 p.m.
