Men's Tennis Hosts Three Matches This Weekend

ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend men's tennis team will host three non-conference teams over the weekend, beginning with Waynesburg on Friday night at Westwood Racquet Club at 6 p.m. The Lions will face Westminster and Otterbein on Saturday afternoon.

Weekend Schedule:
Friday, February 21 - Behrend vs. Waynesburg, 6 p.m.
Saturday, February 22 - Behrend vs. Westminster, 1 p.m.  
Saturday, February 22 - Behrend vs. Otterbein, 3 p.m.  

Penn State Behrend News & Notes:

* The Behrend Lions fell short of winning their season opener last Saturday
* Behrend fell 5-4 to non-conference Baldwin Wallace on the road
* The Lions are now 5-3 on the season
* Ricky Dong (Beijing, China/Keystone Academy) leads Behrend with a 6-1 record at No. 1 singles
* Dong, Mitchell May (Erie, PA/Harbor Creek) and Belden Tuttle (Fairview, PA/Fairview) were all winners in singles action against the Yellow Jackets
* Mason Harbaugh (Greenfield, PA/Hempfield) and Jimmy Lobdell (Warren, PA/Warren) enter on a three-match winning streak in doubles competition

Waynesburg News & Notes:

* The Yellow Jackets are 1-2 on the season
* This is the first match of the spring season for Waynesburg
* The Yellow Jackets lone win was a 9-0 decision over Muskingum in the season opener on Sept. 21

Westminster News & Notes:

* The Titans have a 2-0 record so far this season
* The Lions are the first match for Westminster this spring
* The Titans defeated Pitt-Bradford 8-1 and Pitt-Greensburg 5-4 in the fall

Otterbein News & Notes:

* The Cardinals enter the weekend with an undefeated 5-0 mark
* Otterbein recently defeated Grove City 7-2 on Feb. 12
* The Cardinals also posted a 5-4 victory against Ohio Wesleyan to start the spring season
* Brandon Wall leads the team with a 9-3 record at No. 1 singles, while joining Connor Radune for a 5-3 mark at No. 1 doubles
