Men's Tennis to Face Edinboro, Medaille This Weekend

ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend men's tennis team will battle Division II Edinboro in non-conference action on Friday night at Westwood Racquet Club beginning at 6 p.m. The Lions will then travel to Buffalo, NY to take on the Medaille Mavericks on Saturday at 4 p.m.  

Penn State Behrend News & Notes:

* The Lions opened the season last week on the road at Pitt-Greensburg
* Behrend fell 6-3 to the Bobcats in AMCC action
Michael Brudy (Gibsonia, PA/Pine Richland) and Belden Tuttle (Fairview, PA/Fairview) were double winners for the Lions
* Brudy and Tuttle teamed up to post an 8-0 at No. 2 doubles against Andrew Oden and Paco Garcia
* The Bobcats collected wins in the other two doubles matches for a 2-0 lead
* Brudy and Tuttle also won their singles matches at the No. 3 and 4 spot, respectively

Edinboro News & Notes:

* The Fighting Scots are 3-3 this season
* Edinboro has won three in a row, recently defeating Kutztown 7-0 last Sunday
* Sophomore Takahiro Inoue plays at No. 1 doubles and singles for the Fighting Scots
* Edinboro has four freshmen and four sophomores fielding the team this season
* Former Fighting Scots tennis player, Kody Duncan, enters his fourth season as the head coach

Medaille News & Notes:

* The Mavericks host the Behrend Lions in the season finale
* Medaille is 0-3 in its first three matches, all AMCC contests
* The Mavericks have fallen to Pitt-Greensburg, Penn State Altoona and Mt. Aloysius
* The Mounties posted an 8-1 win over Medaille on Sunday
