UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS, Ohio – The Penn State Behrend men's track and field team participated in the John Carroll Twilight Meet on Friday.

John Cerminara (Williamsburg, VA/Jamestown) led the way in the shot and discus.  Cerminara qualified for ECAC's in both events after winning the discus and coming in third in the shot put.  The senior hit 47.02m in the discus and 14.39m in the shot put.

Junior Seth Weible (Johnsonburg, PA/Johnsonburg) had an excellent day in the field as well.  Weible placed fourth in both the discus and javelin throws with distances of 41.91m and 41.94m, respectively.

In the pole vault, three Behrend athletes had great performances.  Dylan Bilka (Seven Fields, PA/Seneca Valley) won the event at 4.25m, setting a new stadium record.  Matthew Miller (South Park, PA/South Park) and Garrett Shaw (Saxonburg, PA/Knoch) tied for second at 3.95m.

Conor MacMannis (Stafford, VA/Kubeszki) and Milt Sibanda (Jefferson, PA/Jefferson-Morgan) contended in the triple jump.  MacMannis took second at 12.74m with Sibanda close behind in third at 12.29m.  Kevin Gardner (Waterford, PA/Fort LeBoeuf) rounded out the top field performers with a second place finish in the high jump at 1.75m.

On the track, the Lions had three athletes place in the top-5.  Geoffrey Faltot (Mercer, PA/Mercer) and Denis Lydon (Plum, PA/Plum) each had a third place finish.  Faltot competed in the 100m and finished in 12.05 with Lydon in the 5000m at 16:14.42.  Nick Marzka (Waterford, PA/Fort LeBoeuf) ran the 400m and took fifth at 53.60.

The Lions will be back in action on Saturday to host the Behrend Invitational at the newly constructed track and field complex.
