Men's Cross Country Lands Eight On All-Conference Team; Buffington Named Runner Of The Year

ERIE, Pa - Dylan Buffington (Brookville, PA/Brookville) has been named the 2016 Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Men's Cross Country Runner of the Year. He was the top individual finisher at the AMCC championship and led the Lions to a team conference title. He led Behrend to team victories in all but one race this season including first overall finishes in all but one race. At the Inter-Regional Boarder Clash, he recorded the fastest race in Behrend history with a time of 24:22.30.

Buffington holds three of the top four times in the conference this season.

Head Coach Greg Cooper was named Coach of the Year for the seventh time in the past 10 years. He led the Lions to an AMCC title for the sixth straight year and 10th time in program history.

Behrend had eight runners finish in the top 15 at the AMCC Championships, earning them All-Conference honors.

Senior Aaron Peters (Waterford, Pa/Fort LeBoeuf) was named to the All-Conference team for the second time and Jarrod Lipsey (Kersey, PA/St. Mary's Area) earned his first All-Conference honor.

Juniors Jacob Parsons (Titusville, PA/Maplewood) and Ian Griffith (Murrysville, PA/Franklin Regional) garnered All-Conference honors after finishing second and third, respectively, at the AMCC Championship meet.

Sophomore Michael Cross (Fairview, PA/Fairview) and freshman Alex Kubala (Pittsburgh, PA/North Hills) and Chris Drozynski (Stoneboro, PA/Lakeview) each earned an All-Conference selections for the first time.
