ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend men's and women's cross country teams will begin their seasons this Friday, August 30 at the Westminster Fischer Invite in Wilmington, Pa.

* The Lions men and women's teams both finished second in the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) last season
* The men's team had nine top-15 finishers including returners Zachary Tingley (Stoneboro, PA/Lakeview), Zach Wortman (St. Mary's, PA/Elk County Catholic), Jake Lehotsky (Erie, PA/Fort LeBoeuf), Chris Drozynski (Stoneboro, PA/Lakeview), and Nick Post (Union City, PA/Seneca)
* Tingley was also named the AMCC Newcomer of the Year for his fourth place finish at the championship event
* The team has nine returners while picking up eight new runners
* The women's cross country team also returns a strong core from last year
* The Lions had six top-15 finishers including returners Riley Crissman (Bradford, PA/Bradford Area), Jenna Shelton (Cabot, PA/Knoch), Hanna Drozynski (Stoneboro, PA/Lakeview), and Suraihyah Sule (Snellville, GA/Shiloh)
* The women's team has 10 returning athletes along with six new runners
* Head Coach Greg Cooper enters his 11th season at the helm of the cross country programs
