Behrend Basketball Set to Offer "Economic Stimulus" Night in Junker

This Saturday, February 21 the Penn State Behrend athletic department is offering reduced ticket prices for the men's and women's basketball games.  Entry to the games on "Economic Stimulus" Night will cost fans just $1 (Penn State Behrend students get in free).

The Penn State Behrend women's basketball team will face Pitt-Bradford in a 6:00 p.m. tip-off with the men's game to follow at about 8:00 p.m.

Director of Athletics Brian Streeter said, "This is just a way of saying thank you to the fans who have supported our basketball teams all season.  Hopefully we will also see some new faces who may take advantage of the offer to catch some exciting Behrend basketball action."

This is the final regular season home game for both the men's and women's teams, and each squad will honor its seniors before the games.  The women have two senior players on the roster, guards (McDonald/Fort Cherry) and Ellen Kolos (Bellefonte/Bellefonte).  Men's basketball will honor seniors Tom Newman (Girard/Northwestern) and Drew Seker (Ellicott City, MD/Centennial).  Behrend women's basketball is currently 12-11 overall and 10-7 in AMCC play, while the men's team carries a 16-8 overall mark with a 12-5 record in league play.

The men can win the AMCC regular season title with a win over Pitt-Bradford combined with a Medaille loss to Hilbert.  The Behrend women can earn a #4 or #5 seed with a win on Saturday depending on other league results from Saturday.  The AMCC basketball conference championship tournaments will begin on Tuesday, February 24 with the #3 seed hosting the #6 seed, while the #4 seed hosts the #5 seed.
