Wrestling Competes at Mt. Union Invitational

ALLIANCE, Ohio – The Penn State Behrend wrestling team had four wrestlers each pick up at least one win at the 2021 Mt.  Union Invitational held on Saturday.

Key Moments:

* Joe Newara (Harborcreek, PA/Harbor Creek) went 2-2 on the day at 285 for the Lions
* Newara pinned Devan Welch of Hiram in 3:44 and then tallied another fall over Miller of Brewton-Parker in 3:35
* At 133, Michael Binni (Canonsburg, PA/Canon McMillan) defeated Mason McCarty of Mt. Union for his first win of the season
* Binni posted a 9-7 decision over McCarty in his first match of the day
* Tyler Speraw (Annville, PA/Annville-Cleona) registered a win at 157
* Speraw earned a 9-2 decision over Tucker Smith of Gannon, before falling 5-3 to Rayfield of Ohio Northern
* At 184, Reno DiCesare (McKees Rocks, PA/Montour) recorded an 8-2 win over Connar Davis of Ohio Northern
