ROCHESTER, NY – The Penn State Behrend women's swimming and diving team is one point away from first place, sitting second with a score of 250 after day two of the 2022 AMCC Championships held in conjunction with the Empire 8 Championships on Thursday.

Combined Women's Scores: 1. Nazareth (493), 2. Alfred State (251), 3. Penn State Behrend (250), 4. Hartwick (244.5), 5. Alfred (217), 6. Penn State Altoona (200.5), 7. Wells (103), 8. Pitt-Bradford (94.5), 9. Utica (90.5), 10. Medaille (2)

Noteworthy:

* Alfred State holds a one-point lead on the Behrend Lions after day two
* Marcella Puglia (Beaver Falls, PA/Blackhawk) registered the first individual AMCC Championship with a first-place finish in the 500 freestyle
* Puglia touched first among the AMCC with a time of 5:17.22 and third overall
* Aliya Webster (Bradford, PA/Bradford) was close behind Puglia with a second-place finish with a time of 5:25.41 (sixth overall)
* Barbie Cessar (Slippery Rock, PA/Slippery Rock) took home the silver in the 200 IM to lead the Lions
* Cessar tallied a time of 2:16.32 for second in the AMCC and fifth overall
* In the 50 free, Trulee Stainbrook (DuBois, PA/DuBois Area) was the top swimmer for Behrend with fourth place in the AMCC with a time of 26.82
* Lone Behrend diver, Julia Sank (North East, PA/North East) placed fifth on the one-meter board with a score of 244.35
* The Lions 200 freestyle relay, who would have taken third place, disqualified in the event
