Women's Track & Field Takes First at Home Meet

ERIE, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend women's track and field team won their first meet of the season, finishing first out of 10 competing teams with 265 points on their home track Saturday at the Behrend Invitational.

Paige Allen (Butler, PA/Butler) picked up a pair of wins in the 100 and 200m races. She came in first in the 100 with a time of 12.43 and then won the 200 with a time of 25.56.

Courtney Sargent (Erie, PA/Collegiate Academy) captured a first-place finish in the 800m, posting a time of 2:22.95.

Rachel Ramsey (North Versailles, PA/East Allegheny) and Katelyn Hancock (Bethel Park, PA/Bethel Park) each had a second-place finish during the meet. Ramsey took second in the 5000m with a 19:03.80 and Hancock took second in the 3000m steeplechase with a 13:01.06.

Allen and Rachel Pell (Elizabeth, PA/Elizabeth Forward) finished two-three in the 110m hurdles with times of 16.24 and 16.48 respectively. Pell then won the 400m hurdles in 1:06.32. Hancock and Sargent took third and fourth in that event with 1:11.06 and 1:11.33 respectively.

Faith Leri (Alexandria, PA/Juniata Valley) took first place in the high jump with a height of 1.94m. Alaina Krauzewski (Erie, PA/Harbor Creek) finished in second behind Leri with a 1.44m mark.

Michaela Krause (Union City, PA/Union City Area) and Haley Yenchik (Cecil, PA/Canon McMillan) finished in a tie for second in the pole vault. They posted heights of 3.05m

Behrend returns to the track on Saturday, May 7 to compete in the Colonia States Athletic Conference (CSAC) Championships.
