Women's Volleyball Clinches Top Seed for AMCC Tournament

CRESSON, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend women's volleyball team clinched the top seed for the upcoming Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Tournament with a 3-0 win over Mt. Aloysius on Saturday afternoon.

The Lions (17-7, 8-0 AMCC) have won six straight matches and have remained undefeated in conference play earn the right to host the conference championships on Nov. 3-4.

Behrend defeated the Mounties 25-14, 25-17, and 25-13. Catherine Healy (Connellsville, PA/Connellsville) led with eight kills and Lindsay Bean (Waterford, PA/Fort LeBeouf) added seven kills and three blocks.

Chelsea Magnusen (Plum, PA/Plum) tallied 23 assists and 12 digs, while Tory Storino (Pittsburgh, PA/Baldwin) posted 16 digs. Alyssa Pears (Meadville, PA/Meadville) had a bit of every stat with six aces, three kills and two blocks.

Behrend returns to action on Tuesday at Buffalo State. Match begins at 7 p.m.
