UTICA, NY. – The Penn State Behrend women's water polo team took down Utica twice in the CWPA Regional Tournament 1 on Saturday.

Game 1
* Behrend took down Utica, 13-5 in the first game of the day
* The Lions came out fast, taking a 9-0 lead after the first period
* Behrend held strong, scoring three goals in the second and holding Utica to zero
* The Pioneers outscored the Lions 5-1 in the second half but were unable to overcome the deficit
* Sarah Mancebo (Tulare, CA/Mission Oak) led the way with two goals and one assist
* Kayla Scarpaci (Cypress, TX/Langham Creek) and Emily McNaughton (Wexford, PA/Pine-Richland) each contributed one goal and two assists
* Chloe Dodgen (Riverside, CA/Hillcrest) recorded the win in goal with three saves and one steal 

Game 2
* The Lions defeated Utica in the second game, 16-5
* Behrend took a slim 3-2 lead after the first period before outscoring the Pioneers 9-2 in the second
* Utica matched the Lions in the third period with two goals each
* Behrend took the win after holding the Pioneers in the final quarter
* Shannon Young (Roseville, CA/Roseville) led the Lions with three goals and one assist while Scarpaci chipped in three goals to match
* Viviana Euan (La Habra, CA/Troy) and McNaughton each tallied two goals
* Euan contributed four assists
* Hope Nuzback (Erie, PA/McDowell) got the win with seven saves in goal
