NEW LONDON, Conn. - The No. 6 Penn State Behrend women's water polo team fell in its first game on Saturday to No. 7 Carthage, but then went on to beat No. 9 Wheaton (Mass.) on the second day of the Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA).

* Darrell and Marley Persch (Hudsonville, MI/Hudsonville) added a score to give Behrend a 4-0 advantage after the first quarter
* Persch, Wright, and freshman Scarlett Hall (Carlsbad, CA/San Marcos) capped off the Lions first win of the CWPA Championships by finding the back of the net
* Beckman and Persch each finished with a game-high two scores
* Behrend will compete in the seventh-place game against the loser of Connecticut College and Grove City tomorrow on the final day of championships. Game time is set for 9 a.m.
