Women's Cross Country Makes Debut at Allegheny

MEADVILLE, Pa - The Penn State Behrend women's cross country team opened up their season on Saturday with a third place finish at the Allegheny College Classic 5k. The Lions had seven runners finish in the top 25.

Jamie Szramowski (Pittsburgh, PA/Oakland Catholic) led the Behrend squad placing 14th with a time of 22:29. Catherine Fox (Fairview, PA/Fairview) finished 17th (22:57) in her first career outing for the Lions  

Miranda Boatman (Bellefonte, PA/Bellefonte) also finished in the top 20 with a time of 23:39. Paige Allen (Butler, PA/Butler), the teams fourth place finisher, ran a time of 24:43 and finished 21st overall.

Abagail Johnston, (Grove City, PA/Grove City) Alexa Haverly (Erie, PA/Villa Maria Academy) and Rachel Pell (Elizabeth, PA/Elizabeth Forward) all finished in the top 25 with times of 25:51, 26:00 and 26:35 respectively.

Behrend's next scheduled competition is slated for Saturday September 6 at Franciscan at 11:00 am.
