Women's Bowling Battles in Day Two

ALTOONA, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend women's bowling team battled in day two of the AMCC (Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference) Round Robin tournament hosted by Penn State Altoona. The Lions matched-up with Hilbert, Thiel, and New Jersey City in a Baker Match style on the second day.

Behrend went 1-2 on Sunday, falling to Hilbert and New Jersey City, but was able to pick up its first win of the weekend against Thiel due to a forfeit.

In the first match of the game, Behrend faced off against Hilbert. The Lions defeated the Hawks in game one of the series by the score of 133-130. Behrend continued their play to win the second game as well with a score of 115-97. Hilbert swept the final three games of the series 124-89, 152-97, 134-124 respectively, to win the match. The Lions knocked down a total of 558 pins for a series average of 111.6, compared to the Hawks 637 pin fall and 127.4 average.

Behrend won series two due to a forfeit by Thiel. The Lions bowled a 124, 101, and 137 in the first three games. In game four, Behrend rolled a season-high 169, followed by a 91 in game five to close out the series. Behrend finished the match with a total pin fall of 622, and a season-best average of 124.4.

The Lions matched-up with New Jersey City in the final match of the weekend. Behrend found a win in game one by the score of 124-108, but fell the next four games. The Lions closed out the series with 591 pins knocked down, averaging 118.2.

On the day, Behrend whipped out 1684 pins, accumulating a total of 3863 pins that were knocked down on the weekend.

Behrend is back in action when they face off against St. Vincent on Tuesday, November 14.
