PITTSBURGH, Pa. – The Penn State Behrend women's bowling team punched their ticket to day two of the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Tournament with a win over La Roche in the opening round on Friday at Pines Plaza Lanes. The win gave the Lions a date with Medaille on Friday afternoon where they would suffer their first loss of the double-elimination portion.

Noteworthy:

* The opening match against the Redhawks only needed the first two portions of the mega match with a traditional and best-of-five baker
* Abigail Lanker (Sunbury, OH/Worthington Christian) threw a career-best and single-game high of 245 in the traditional match, while Mars McAninch (Cincinnati, OH/Colerain) was second on the team with a 170
* In the baker match, McAninch had the highest total for the Lions with a 187 with Lanker in second with a 178
* The loss to Medaille sends the Lions into the losers bracket and one match away from elimination
* In the traditional match, Ashley Debich (Leechburg, PA/Kiski Area ) tallied a team-high 189 and she also led in the baker with a 185 score
