In the bottom of the first Behrend (22-5) went up 3-0 before
loading the bases with no outs. Rich Doyle (Pittsburgh/North

hits to take a commanding lead after one inning of play.
Behrend added another run in the second inning when Harry Latta
(Waterford/Fort LeBouef) doubled bringing in Doyle for a 9-0
lead. Fredonia got that run back in the top of the third when
a long double drove in a runner from first.
The score reached 10-2 before the sixth inning when Behrend loaded
the bases with no outs. Ed Kessler (Bethel
Park/Bethel Park) crushed a triple to right center field clearing
the bases and making it 13-2. The blue and white added
another run in the inning and headed to the seventh leading
14-2.
Fredonia loaded the bases in the eighth and Matt LaPorte's single
brought in two runs to get it to 14-4. The Blue Devils would
add two more runs in the inning to cut the Behrend lead to 14-6
heading to the bottom of the eighth. Fredonia could not get
any more runs across the plate in the ninth and Behrend sealed the
