Behrend men's golfer Joe Nelson (Warren/Warren) was named the AMCC golfer of the week for the week of October 6, 2008.

Nelson led the blue and white to a second place finish at the AMCC Championships at the Toms Run Golf Resort in Blairsville, PA.  The junior shot a first round 73 to give the Behrend Lions the second place position after one round of play.  He followed the first round with a 72 second round to solidify the second place spot for the Behrend Lions. 

Nelson was able to beat out runner up Jake Biltz from Penn State Altoona by two strokes.  The Behrend Lions would be 13 strokes behind first place Penn State Altoona.

Nelson has battled all year long for the top spot on the blue and white roster.  He will look to use the win in the AMCC Championships to propell himself into the season end ECAC Championships on October 12th and 13th.
