Four Different Lions Score in Non-Conference Win

ERIE, Pa - The Penn State Behrend men's soccer team continued their impressive defense play, shutting out Bethany Wednesday night by a score of 4-0.

Four different Lions (9-1-2) scored in the match, three of which were their first goals of the season. Behrend controlled the ball for a majority of the game, outshooting the Bison (5-5-2) by a 13-5 margin.

The Lions struck three times in the first half to put the game out of reach. Senior forward Anthony Crivelli (Cranberry Twp, PA/Seneca Valley) put the first goal on the board in the 13th minute. Josh Kolarac (Imperial, PA/West Allegheny) played a ball up to Nolan Beresford (Greenburg, PA/Hempfield) who quickly found Crivelli. Sean Gallagher (Bethel Park, PA/Bethal Park) recorded his first goal of the season at the 31:50 mark on a pass from sophomore midfielder Bobby Svec (Irwin, PA/Norwin).

Just before the half, Svec recorded his second assist of the evening. He served a cross to Kolarac on the left post, who's one-touch shot put the Lions up 3-0. That was Kolarac's first goal of his career.

The Lions added one more goal in the second half. Freshman Ryan Segar (Athens, PA/Athens Area) recorded his first career assist when he played a ball up the middle to a streaking Scott Repenning (Bayvillage, OH/Bay). His shot found the lower right side of the net, putting Behrend up by the eventual final score, 4-0.

The Lions are now on a seven game win-streak. Over that period, Behrend has outscored their opponents 17-2 and have recorded five shutouts.

The Lions will be back in action this Saturday against Penn State Altoona at home for Senior Day. The AMCC match is set to begin at 3:30 p.m.
