ERIE, Pa. – Men's soccer seniors Tyler Vandemerwe (Erie, PA/Cathedral Prep) and Sam York (Akron, OH/Revere), along with women's cross country junior Olivia Nola (Erie, PA/Collegiate Academy) earned Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Athletes of the Week.

Vandemerwe scored in both of Behrend's matches last week to notch Offensive Player of the Week Honors.

He netted the game-winner in the 18th minute of the AMCC Game of the Week to lead the Lions to a 1-0 win over Mount Aloysius and remain undefeated in conference play. Also, he scored the first goal of the game in a 5-0 victory over Pitt-Bradford Wednesday night.

Against Mount Aloysius, York made two saves in the crucial shutout victory to secure Defensive Player of the Week Honors.

York has recorded three shutouts in net this season.

Nola scored a top finish for Behrend at the Houghton Invitational Saturday afternoon to take Runner of the Week honors.

She ran a 6k time of 23:03.6 for a third-place finish with a split of 3:39.5.
