Simon Finishes Day One at NCAA Championships

ERIE, Pa. – Penn State Behrend sophomore Dan Simon (Harrison City, PA / Penn Trafford) competed in one out of his three events at the NCAA Division III Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving Championships on Wednesday afternoon.

Simon, the first Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) and Penn State Behrend swimmer to qualify for the championships, finished 40th overall in the 50 freestyle with a time of 21.33. He finished eighth in his heat, which was the third out of six heats for the event.

Although the Top 16 advance to the finals, Simon will have a chance in the 100 backstroke and freestyle on Friday and Saturday, respectively.
