ERIE, Pa. - The Penn State Behrend men's and women's swimming and diving teams open the season at the Grove City Fall Classic on Saturday at the James E. Longnecker Competition Pool beginning at 10 a.m.

* Head coach Jen Wallace begins her 18th season as the mentor for both Lions teams
* Behrend begins its 22nd swimming and diving season as a member of the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference
* The conference currently has five teams with swimming and diving programs – Alfred State, Penn State Behrend, Penn State Altoona, Pitt-Bradford and SUNY Delhi.
* The Penn State Behrend men's swimming and diving squad features 24 individuals, including six AMCC champions.
* Current men's team members with school records include: James Connolly (1000 Free, 1650 Free, 800 Free Relay), Chase Bietz (100 Breast, 200 Breast, 200 IM, 400 Free Relay, 800 Free Relay), Quinn Fisher (400 Free Relay, 800 Free Relay), Alex Croll (400 Free Relay)
* The women's team consists of 16 individuals, including three AMCC champions
* Marcella Puglia returns after setting the school record in the 400 Free Relay along with breaking the AMCC Meet Records in the 1650 Free and 400 Free Relay. She also broke the AMCC Open Records in the 1000 Free, 1650 Free and 400 Free Relay
