Women's Basketball Uses Late Run to Down Oberlin in Overtime

OBERLIN, Ohio – The Penn State Behrend women's basketball team outscored Oberlin 30-6 in the final nine minutes of the game to earn an 86-75 non-conference overtime victory on Saturday afternoon.

Records: Penn State Behrend (5-2), Oberlin (5-3)

Key Moments:

* The Lions erased a 13-point deficit with 4:31 left to play in the game and then outscored Oberlin 17-6 in overtime to get the win
* Alexis Furyes (Medina, OH/Highland) got the layup to go with one second left off a pass from Boyer to send it into an extra five-minute quarter
* Behrend scored 11 straight points to start the overtime, led by a pair of triples by Rachel Majewski (Erie, PA/Villa Maria Academy)
* The Lions defense clamped down and held Oberlin scoreless for over five minutes in regulation and overtime
* Majewski, Madilyn Boyer (Saxonburg, PA/Knoch) and Morgan Altavilla (Pittsburgh, PA/Baldwin) all had double-digit points at the half
* Majewski, Boyer and Altavilla accounted for 65 of the team's 86 points on the day
* Majewski led with 23, followed by Boyer with 22 and Altavilla contributed 20
* Brianna Dean (New Castle, PA/Neshannock) scored a career-high 16 points and added seven rebounds   
* There was a total of 42 turnovers combined and Behrend got 27 points off the change of possession
*  The Yeowomen held a 24-0 advantage in bench points
